Someone once said to me "there is no such thing as an accident". I've pondered on this for several years and have finally concluded that they might be right.
Can anyone give me an example of something that is purely accidental and could, in no way, have been avoided?

Yeah he is right..
Bcos everysingle thing in this life happens for a reason.
Even an unwanted child in a family is born bcos of a particular reason.
Nothing accidental in this bloody world..

While towing or lifting a heavy load, the chain or rope snaps damaging properties & causing physical injuries. Yes, such accident could have been avoided but can anybody really pre-detemine the wear and tear of the chain or rope? Accident is used to differentiate untoward man-made incidents vs. purely fortuitous (god-made) events.

Physical examples include unintended collisions or falls, being injured by touching something sharp, hot, or electric, or ingesting poison. Non-physical examples are unintentionally revealing a secret or otherwise saying something incorrectly, forgetting an appointment, etc.
