1990 to 1993 lived in Mt Aukum Calif. 5 miles from the hwy 21/2 miles to a paved road. Drove 120 miles a day to work .... no power no phone, had a single wide trailer with wood stove, did have running water and a septic system, and a couple neighbors, we all worked together on the road and community Projects, had chickens and a generator shared a well and deer wandering thru our property daily. the stars were like diamonds in the sky the sound of the coyotes in the distant and the rustling of the trees was all you ever heard. the kids 7 and 9 still talk on how much they enjoyed those years,,,,,,, It was a great experience I will have again when I retire.

Mine would have to be this cave that me and my group of friends found when we were 14 lots of memories there. Anytime we just needed to escape for acouple days we would backpack to it start a fire and just relax and have a good time. It was the most peaceful place ever had a river that ran right next to it one entrace went right into the water. In the winter couldnt even get to it cause of the water but every summer it still had the markings we scratched in the walls. Miss that place miss that crew good old days.

The Black Canyon in Montrose, Co. To sit up at the top at sun set is just awe inspiring. You've got the river at the bottom reflecting up the last bits of sun, the colors that run through the rocks and the colors in the clouds... just... WOW!

Well, I feel at peace when I am in Tovik, Norway, my husband's hometown. It's just so lovely there. Not a lot of cars, very serene.
