When you call a superstition a superstition?. When there is no scientific proof. So, we are using scientific proof as a scale to measure the worth. What if the scale itself is wrong?. So-called this science called "yoga" as a trash long back but is using it like never before. Same science said there is no evidence that Ayurveda gives cure but millions of Indians get cured by Ayurveda. Shooting champions are not winners of Science to understand Newton's motions or any other complex theories to shoot bullets.
So, one cannot' acutely define a superstition.

Indian from India, or Indian Native American? I ask because the Navajo have this cool superstition in which the door of the hogan always faces east, but if someone dies in the hogan, they must break out the western wall so that the soul can escape.

Like people the world over, most Indians are highly superstitious. Many aspects of their life is linked to some superstitious belief and some of these are even mentioned in religious literature.

FOR EXAMPLE, CHRISTIANS DON'T HAVE 13 NO IN THEIR HOTELS AND SEVERAL SUPERSTITIONS.
