When it comes to opinion questions, you know that the asker is probably going to be biased and choose the person whose answer matches their opinion. For example, if I asked, "Who do you like better, Danity Kane or the Pussycat Dolls" and added a side note that I myself preferred the Pussycat Dolls, then many people would just lie and talk about how great PCD is, regardless of what they personally think. So, are you one of those people who try to flatter the asker just to be chosen as the best answer, or are you somebody who speaks their mind? 2 pts for your thoughts, and 10 extra if I see something special in yours.

Not really, if i honestly don't have the same opinion as theirs, then I just say what I think, but lets say I DID prefer your Pussycat Dolls to that Danity Kane, then I would say so, and probably butter up my answer a little bit more. Come on, I want those ten points! LoL.

I dont see the point in lying. for me it is way more important to just answer the question honestly than earn an extra 10 pts. What do you get for you points anyway? Nothing! so therefore the only thing to be earned is the knowledge that you answered someone's question to the best of your ability. Now if we could turn in all these points for cash, I might have to reconsider my position....but even then it just depends on the question and how serious the asker is

LOL! me, I say to hell with flattery haha unless of course, my life depends on it, or the person deserves it. When I'm answering a question, especially a poll-type question, I always give my own opinion. If they like it, good for them, if not, oh well. If you had asked me that question, I would have had to answer the PCD, because I love them and I've never heard of the other artist haha ^_^ If you asked me if I like The Beatles versus The Eagles, I'd say The Eagles, because I don't like the Beatles all that much haha haven't heard enough music of their's that I like

Why would I care if you liked my answers or not? To me you are a 'non-person' only real in this forum Advancing levels doesn't give me any real advancement.you can't eat it, it offers no warmth, you can't spend it...so why try to influence the asker by saying what they want to hear. I try to be as truthful as possible. I offer my opinions because I want to help.

i tell it like it is, you guys have no idea who i really am, so i have no reason in the world to worry about your rejection of my advise or words of wisdom. i speak the truth, and hope that you guys do too, otherwise we all might as well just join a joke site. by the way, there is a section here for that too. if you don't want to voice your true opinion, please don't answer any of my questions. if you are a writer of fiction, join a writing blog.

I've got a "report abuse" several times because I always say what I think. So, I am surely not one of the "flattering guys". Tastes differ, why should I stick to other's point?

If you look at my profile, you will see that I give my personal thoughts and opinions and it is obvious that I have many that no one thinks are "best".
I dont do this to win points or have a high score...I do it to help people, learn stuff and have fun.

my entire purpose for being on Y!A is to help other people and if I'm only telling them what they want to hear... how helpful is that really? You see I wanted to be a psychologist with a minor in religion, but can't afford college. So I come here to help as many people as I can.

I owe nothing to Yahoo Askers...except my honest answer. When my answer gets chosen as BEST it is because it is genuine. That is more meaningful than trying to "gain" points.

No, I totally agree with you. It's so much better to speak your own opinion, don't you think, honey bunny? (P.S. Can I have those 10 points?)
