Shop around for a good pair of heels. A well made, properly fitted, well balanced heel should not make your feet hurt. It should support your whole foot and not stand you only on the ball. Although the ball does carry the majority of the weight, the shoe should allow for weight distribution to the arch and heel area too. That will keep the ball from getting sore from too much pressure. The shoe should sit flat with out rocking when placed on a level surface. This alleviates the strain on the ankles when walking. A good pair makes ALL the difference in the world.
One of my jobs requires me to be on my feet 10+ hours straight (bartender on weekends) and I do it in 4 inch heels. But I am very particular about my shoes. If you find a good pair of heels you should be able to dance all night.
Have fun! Hope this helps.

Is your night out for a great night dancin with friends or to look good for the fellas as well? Which is number 1 important? If it's the first then go for comfort I would say - and great looks as well - not too high heel though, absolutely not flat or boots. If you got good legs then show them off! If it's the second - a little higher with extreme good looks to show off your legs, get some of those small gel pads (so you can hide them inside your shoes) to keep a tad of comfort. Spoken like a fella I know - hope this helps ;o)

High heels can be painful when you wear them all night. Have you tried those gel soles that slip in the shoes.. they work well for some. How about shoes or boots with a kitten heel? The shoe will have the feminine shape but not quite the heel.
Good luck!!

You can still wear heels, just not too high and you can put in those little pads called "Party Feet" so that the balls of your feet don't get sore from pressure. Otherwise wear pumps/ballet shoes, they are very in at the moment and look nice too,.

If i wear heels for night out ,dancing ect, put those gel pads under ball of youre foot. And a trick my husband told me for runners put some vaseline on feet (stops friction and rubbing) he plasters his feet in the stuff before a race but i put a little on and pop one of those tiny tins of vaseline in my bag.I always carry "clear" plasters just in case. Many a night i walked home in bare feet and got into bed to wake up in morning and think eeuuww look at the colour of them never mind what i might have walked on.!!! happy dancing

What about flats? I think those are nice. And if you want a sexy beach summer type look, then wear sandals.

Just get some nice flats. Some with sequins on them or something so they still look girly, and then get those gel inserts if you think you need extra cushioning.
