He got half a monkey off his back just like Steve Young 12 years ago against San Diego. He has to win a Super Bowl to get the other half of the monkey off.

Peyton Manning is a more suitable robust QB than Ben Rothlisberger even although Ben has 2 earrings. Peyton has set many more suitable archives and the purely reason he doesn't have more suitable earrings is because the protection of the colts isn't the perfect at the same time as the steelers protection is between the properly 10 or properly 5 with Troy. Peyton doesn't ought to win this superbowl to be "said" with Ben..... Peyton has already exceeded Ben.

All these people talking about half monkeys when it's a simple yes or no, and the answer is no. Jim Kelly and Marino do not have a ring, you just can't go there you have to win. Beating Brady is something he already did and should of did they have the better team the real monkey comes in the Superbowl he will become a legend in the Superbowl as Brady is known now.

Manning has lifted a serious monkey off of his back because he has shown that he can win a big game when it counts. In fact, he has two major big game victories in a row. He may not have played as well as he did against the Patriots, but he was still got the victory against the Baltimore Ravens (who was expected to kill the Colts at home and take it to the Super Bowl with that defense).

However, Manning won't have his third big game victory in a row as I see Urlacher clenching a blood-soaked blue jersey with number 18 torn asunder after all is said and done in Miami in two weeks.

The "getting to the Superbowl" monkey and the "beating Tom Brady in the playoffs" monkey are gone, but the "winning the Superbowl monkey" is still there.

Simply showing up doesn't cut it. Ask Dan Marino. If manning were to lose, that would put the monkey back on his back, for he'd have to climb that mountain all over again next season.

i believe he has lifted the monkey up a little because now at least he can say with a great season he helped get them there but he does in-deed have to win the superbowl for indianapolis in order to get the monkey off his back and if he doesnt he gave it his best and they can say they were there in 2007

I'm pretty sure that Peyton proved himself last year when, rather than putting the team in jeapordy, he went for the win and didn't steal the thunder by going for the record. (And by the way, still acheived it). He always put the team and victory first.

Yes he has now he has one more monkey to go.

The Colts will win. They have too much in their favor. It's simply their destiny and it can't really be put into words.

Dungy's and Manning's time has arrived.
