Kobe Bryant, when you consider the talent (or lack of talent) on his team and his team's record.... Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown have been injured as well, and they have quality wins against the best in the west, and because some voters may be reluctant to give the award to Steve Nash three straight years, much like the year Malone beat out Jordan... and you also can't forget about Gilbert Arenas whose Wizards have wins against the Mavs and Suns. In my opinion, I think Steve Nash should never have won the award the past two seasons, Shaq and Kobe should have won the past two seasons respectively, and maybe even Lebron last year, and its a shame because Nash is having an even better season this year.

How can Gilbert Arenas be named the mvp if he hasnt even proved that he can lead his team by himself? Wade, Lebron, Dirk, Kobe, and Nash all proved it...but the Wizards got eliminated during the 1st round of the playoffs last year!!! Arenas just had an excellent month. I really dont see anyone other than Nash taking the mvp award...if Kobe couldnt steal it from Nash with 81 pts last season, who else can win it? and with what? a 100 pts? yea right...

Almost certainly Nowitzki with Kobe getting consideration if the Lakers finish the season strong.

The best players in the East -- Arenas, Lebron, DWade -- are likely to be overlooked because the East is mired in mediocrity.

Dirk Nowitzki was the best last year. The Mavs had the top record and reached the Finals. With better officiating, they beat Miami. Dirk is also the best this year so far.

It will certainly be Dirk Nowitzki or Gilbert Arenas

Those two players are just awesome this season and their teams are doing great!

For the person above me, i apologize on their behalf for mentioning Tracy McGrady in the MVP discussion. I really believe it WILL be Agent Zero. He has carried his team and in the weak East, if it wasnt for him, they wouldnt be in the playoff picture. Yeah, Nash has even better numbers but you cant overlook what Agent Zero is doing.

Agent Zero = Gilbert Arenas for you fools who dont actually follow the NBA.
