The 22ND amendment to the US constitution (section 1) states that a person cannot be elected to more then 2 consecutive terms as US President, however a person who has already served could run again after a 4 year break (Bush had better not try it if he did he would be the 1st in US history to do so other possible candidates could be the surviving Presidents William Jefferson Clinton, George Herbert Walker Bush, and James Earl Carter JR)

Correct, he can't run again. The United States, one of the first countries of the modern era to have elected political offices, has a limit of two terms on its Presidency, and on a number of other political offices as well (such as state Governors and some state legislators).

The Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution says that no person can be elected President of the United States to more than two four-year terms.

We could always change the law . . . lets not. After Franklin Roosevelt was elected for the 4th time, a law was passed limiting terms for Presidents to two terms. Based on current laws, Bush is gone in 08. Washington originally set the unofficial policy of two terms following the mold of Cincinatus from anitquity. FDR felt compelled to keep running due to WW2, maybe he was right. Yet, it was Truman that ended the war with Hiroshima once FDR died.

No, thank goodness. Hopefully, Bush will disappear into obscurity in his retirement - cutting shrubs ; lecturing his mexican lawn boys on the evils of bilingualism; and generally butchering the English language.

God I hope he has enough sense not to try to take advantage of the loop hole that says he might be able to. This country can't handle any more or his war mongering.
