okay, so this may sound ridiculous. because i know none (or very few) of you are doctors. but i've had this strange hunch that something is very wrong with me.. and i would think that of anyone, i would know..
symptoms:
constant sleepyness.. i can sleep 12 hours and wake up tired.
even when awake i feel like i'm drugged up, in a daze almost.
i have chronic back/neck pain, so much so that i can't lay flat on the floor on my back because i experience excruciating pain.
my vision has gotten a lot worse.
i find that when i eat, i overeat and yet still remain hungry.
my grades have fallen.
my heart beats very slow, and i have heart palpitations -- every now and again i feel a little flutter in my chest and sometimes pain along with it.

does anyone have ANY ideas as to what may be causing all this?

i am on no medication and have never been diagnosed with anything.
my health has been normal since i was young and these things started developing about a year ago and have gradually gotten worse.

also -- i have very little motivation even to go out with my friends. it seems more appealing to sit at home and do nothing than to make an effort to go out. the same goes for classes.... :(

Because of the sleep aspect of your problem, "sleep 12 hrs and wake up tired", "constant sleepiness", I'd tend to think you have a sleep disorder most commonly sleep apnea. The only way to diagnose this is to have a sleep study done. Also a partner may notice that you snore loudly or stop breathing at times during the night. This would also cause heart problems if not treated. The eating problem is something else entirely different. Either because you are depressed or you have an obsessive compulsive disorder. The chronic back and neck pain and not being able to find a comfortable position to fall asleep in tells me you also suffer from insomnia. Are you taking any pain medication for your chronic pain? Make sure your doctor knows just how much pain you have and that he prescribes adequate narcotic pain relievers. Do the heart palpitations happen at night when you lay down? If so this could be panic attacks. If not, then please see your doctor and get a thorough exam.

Sounds like depression and or anxiety to me. Seek a Doctor about this and a school counselor to help you with the stress.
Also you may want to consider seeing a therapist to help you manage your symptoms and the possible caused. See your doctor first to rule out anything physical. As some of the symptoms you describe could also be due to an under active thyroid. Make this a priority in your life. If you need help getting the motivation to go to the Dr ask a trusted family member/friend school counselor or school nurse. Take the first step.

You have to see a doctor, and I mean soon. The physical symptoms you report could come from a lot of things -- sleep apnea, stress, an emerging condition or even depression. If nothing else it sounds like you are heading into depression because of the rest. Get help!
I have lived with ailments most of my life and didn't do enough early on to get back on track. Things only get worse if you don't do something about them now. I know you probably don't want to spend time going to doctors and having tests, but it could help you to live a vastly different life the rest of the way.
If you don't find answers with conventional doctors, try alternative medicine. Not mumbo-jumbo quick cures that don't make sense to you. I for one have been having success going to an integrative care facility. Real MDs, but doctors who look outside the realm dictated by pharm companies and managed health care. And based on science. There are people out there who can help you. It's your job now to go out and find them.
Good luck! Get help!
