I truely do not understand people being raciest. Flowers have different colors, fish are different shapes and colors, people are different colors . . . what is the difference ?

In relation to people. . . skin color does not reflect if a person is mean or nice, honest or thief, smart or 'dumb', dear heart or cruel heart.

I'm a 'pasty white' gal, mature mind . . . and I never have and still don't understand why a person is liked or not liked based on the skin color.

Care to share insights ?. . . Open to all thoughts . . . no judgements.

It stems from people's fear of other races generally dating back to the early 20th century. Some people actually believe that skin color DOES reflect a person's personality. It's generally just because of the way someone was raised or because of a traumatic event in someones life. For example, if someone is robbed by someone of a certain race, they may group all people of that race into one group that they perceive as dangerous.

Also, the media and the government have long portrayed minorities as dangerous. Police are much more likely to arrest a black male than a white female. You can't really do anything about it but accept it, because it's virtually impossible to change someones ingrained feelings.

That's weird that you should say that, because i do not like different colours of flowers in my vase, i prefer them all the same.
Maybe some people take that preference a little too far.

All skin is composed of four substances and has colors in it, brown, yellow, white, and red. These colors have special names. Yellow is carotene, red is hemoglobin, and the brown is melanin. The amount of melanin is the substance that makes people's skin different colors.

I believe it is from ignorance.
Most people choose to disapprove of anything different than what they are accustomed to.
If people were more open-minded, they would learn from differences instead of attacking them.

There is no difference. People are just cruel and feel like making someone else's life miserable than their own.
