Are Valentine red roses romantic or commercially overpriced?

Both - They are romantic, but also way overpriced. And, despite being romantic they can also be sort of cliche. I think that any elegant bouquet of flowers can be just as romantic - not to mention, typically cheaper. In the beginning of a new romance, I would spring for roses, but I think that even though they are always a safe choice, a woman will appreciate other flowers just as much.

Both. A single red rose is romantic when a guy shows up out of the blue and gives one to the girl he loves! There something sweet about it that creates a perfect movie moment. On the other hand some guys just show up at the store two minutes before they see thier loved one and pick whatever is closet and buy it and give it. There isn't much thought except, valentines day = roses, thats what im supposed to get her.

They are both commercially overpriced and way overdone! Go for something much more original. If every guy spent the amount he'd spend on roses on a rare potted plant I think we'd have a lot of happy girls on Valentine's day.

And you get more brownie points
