My wife says she can not remember the email address of her married lover with who she had chatted for one year. She says she has lost the book containing the email. She met him twice as is written in the passionate love letter I found.

From here on out, don't mention it again.
Go out and purchase one of those gift credit cards with cash for yourself. Go on line and get a good key-stroke logger. Have it sent to a local UPS or FedEx location. Have them call you so you can go there and pick it up in person (do not mail to your house).
When possible (she's not around), load onto the computer she uses and sit back for a couple of weeks. Then, log in and read everything she has been doing (email, im's, text messages, email accounts/passwords/websites) and anything else she been doing on line
Changes are she probably has a yahoo or hot mail account you do not know about. Get a logger and your world will probably take a turn for the worse. If she cheated before, she'll probably do it again, just more secretive.
Hopefully she's being honest with you. Be prepared for what you might find.
