It's not that tough. There's about 305 mm in a linear foot. So 1 ft squared is 305 x 305 or 93025 mm squared.

4721/93025 makes it about a twentieth of a square foot.

However, I am not trying to confuse you here, but the way you have phrased the question makes it ambiguous.

If it is actually 4721 mm, squared, then that is 4721 x 4721 or 22287841 mm squared, or 239.6 square feet./

4721 mm by 4721 mm (a square with 4721 mm on a side)

area = 4721mm*4721mm * (1inch/25.4mm)^2 * (1foot/12 inch)^2 = 4721^2 / (25.4^2 * 12^2) foot^2

[notice how the "units of length" cancel out, leaving square-feet]

the "trick" to conversions is to set up a string of multipliers which are each equal to "1", the multiplicative identity

obs: (1 foot / 12 inch) = 1 since both numerator and denominator are "equal" in length

(1 inch / 2.54 cm) = 1
(1 cm / 10 mm) = 1

4721 mm * (1 cm / 10 mm) * (1 inch / 2.54 cm) *(1 foot / 12 inch) =

Therefore, 1 foot = 12 * 2.54 * 10 mm = 304.8 mm

to get the number of feet squared.
