If you live long enough and have had a good sex life and happy family life, and intellectual and spiritual development in your younger years, you may intellectually, spiritually and emotionally move to a higher understanding/consciousness of life where sex is no longer a part of your daily life. It is hard to explain, but human life is broken up into many steps/levels of development. This level is the final level of development for humans--most people never get this far due to lack of introspection and self-awareness. If your sex life stops because of this you are lucky. If it stops at a younger age because of health or other problems, that is very unfortunate. The age varies from race, culture, level of development, etc. 55-75 is the age range that I've seen in men. Women over 60, menopause must be over.

Never if possible. Sex is a healthy and life affirming exercises. One must always remember that we have very few prime directives as living creatures. To seek food, run away from danger, and boink any one willing as often as possible.
