is it so hard to be able to find pictures of a betta's diet. not the pet bettas, the wild ones. i have a project due 1/22/07 and i can't find any pics!! i'm going crazy! arg! >:((

if it helps bettas live off of mosquito larvae for the most part in the wild. mosquitos lay their eggs in the water and when they hatch its breakfast lunch and dinner. bettas are binge eaters -- they eat and then fast -- thats why with new bettas they might not eat for a while because they are tempermental and can go a while without eating. i think it might be easier to find pictures if you just look for pictures of mosquito larvae.

Actually once I visited a region where they are wild.One of the locals told me that you could find them in mud puddles,and ditches beside the road.I thought he was kidding,he wasnt.Stagnant water is the home,and all the creepy crawlys in it that they can get in the ol pie hole is food.Skeeter larvae for sure,but also worms,and larvae of other insects unlucky enough to fall in the water,and be small enough to swallow.
