Good guys had suits made from special material that protected them from gas. Bad guys were a few of those infected that didn't turn into zombies (alive zombies not the undead kind). One of the good guys rode inside of a wheel bike. One episode had some construction workers who had escaped the gas because they were so high up. American cartoon I believe, not sure if it was more then one season.
Any ideas about the TV show? Been bugging me for years.

"Spiral Zone", where Earth was partially covered by mind and body altering gas. The gas area spanned from the north pole to the south pole, in a spiral way.

Some of the people that made this series I think also worked on "Centurions: Power Extreme".

Yes, the gas made people think there was a worldwide climate change happening that would eventually kill us all, and the bad guy’s name was Albert Gore. Most people completely fell for it.

Doesn't sound familiar to me and I watched a lot of cartoons then. Maybe some more info would help?

Was it a saturday morning cartoon? Sunday morning? Weekday afternoons? Disney only?
What was the style of animation? (like HannaBarbera? Like Anime? Like the snorks? etc)
Any particularly notable characters? or voices?
