I hear Americans talking about freeing Tibet all the time but are any of them aware that Tibetans like anyone else don't actually want to be poor and that the Chinese give them free schooling and build them infrastructure, and if they were never taken over by China no one would give a crap about Tibet? Do they care about the much more important problems in Tajikistan, Kyrgistan or Turkmenistan (neighbouring countries)?

TO all those people saying china invaded TIBET please dont talk **** before before you know real history. ALL THOSE BEASTIE BOY'S FREE TIBET MOVEMENT concerts gives a false sense of what happened. put down your iPods and learn something foreal.

Tibet chose to have diplomatic ties with china all the way back in the Qing Dynasty, where the head of tibet the head lama, would pay tribute and rewards to the imperial courts in china in favor getting millitary protection, cultural exchange and building a good relationship with the imperial courts. Tibet was like a special diplomatic state that came under china's protection(due to attacks from other groups at the border), while it's own culture was allowed preserved.

Then as you know, china went through a recession at the late Qing, plus the dominance of different foreign powers that caused it's fundamental policital system that existed thousands of years to change and progress in order to suit the modern era.

But, Tibet is still a state of China because it's earlier head lama chose made this decision.

Tibet being part of China benefits much much more in it's development and financially. PLUS chinese mentalities in any means, DOES NOT, and i mean, DOES NOT, discriminate Tibetans. they are free to practice their own religion and maintain their cultures and identity. the only thing is when your religion conflicts with the original policy laid down by gov't that's when problems arise, other then that, there's not an issue. Contrast to popular belief, China is a nation with plenty of minority groups (more then 50 i think) to begin with and it is known to tolerate and accept the different groups there, unlike some other country's in the world.

In recent years there are radicalist in tibet that thinks about waging war on china, their argument being, " Do you think the Han chinese really respect us and see us as good fellow Buddhists that stays in their little state practicing religion? No, they are mocking us and making fun of us." Well, i want to say i dont know where the HELL these kind of thinkings arised, but the Chinese DO respect you and see you as part of our family, buddhism 've been practiced in china for thousands of years, and radical thinkings like these will only impede the development, and general well-beings of the Tibetan people. And if the Tibetan people is slowed down in economic progress or suffering in the future, people like you are to be blamed.

"The Tibetans were not poor when China took over their country, took over their jobs, and made serfs of all of the Tibetan nationals.." <----- if that's true then girls must have penis, and the moon must come out during the daytime...but what i know is true is the situation in Iraq.

I can't say why Americans make this such an important issue. However, the argument can be made for every colony owned by an imperialist power in the past. Yet almost every colony choose to be poor and independent rather then be a relatively well off dependent state.

Nobody wants to be poor, but nobody wants to be a slave either, no matter how well treated. If anyone was forced between the two, I think most people would rather be poor. In other words, infrastructure improvements or not, I'm sure most Tibetans want their country back.

that's extremely humorous because of the fact i grow to be merely chatting with somebody approximately how the colonies have been extraordinarily a lot manipulated to insurrection by skill of the founding fathers For one the King had no thought the colonist have been unhappy because it grow to be Franklin's job to be the go between, yet he enjoyed the Crown so he could lie each and every time he went returned to Britain approximately how happy united statesa. grow to be with the English rule 2: The founding fathers invested a great quantity of money into the Ohio territory, which the English owned and have been going to furnish to the French, the prosperous elite did no longer desire to work out their investment go **** up so they instigated a insurrection
