Hello all, I am wondering with the new apple iphone, is it possible to turn mobile reception OFF and still use its other features? Or does the mobile reception always have to be on when the iphone is on? Also, does anyone know the date of release of 3g iphone in Australia? Cant wait to get one!!!!!!

Yes, you could do that. Most of the New Sony Ericsson has a thing called the "airplane mode" that's when you are on a plane, you can stil listen to music, play games, and take pics w/ your phone without having to trouble the recieption from the plane. Answered by: http://www.lalawest.com

any phone you can turn off the telephone reception and use the other features, e.g. games or applications that do not require wireless access. You could not use the internet as that requires mobile reception.

Yes, but the iphone has to be on a wireless plan, you cannot just use it as an ipod without the plan.
