The Maya say the world is going to end December 21, 2012. Do you think it will end then, at another time, or not at all.

Yes, the world will adventually end. No sun lasts forever, and as the earth needs the sun to survive, when our sun goes, so do we. But in truth, no one really knows when it will end. Our sun is still relatively young, so in that way we may have a long time left.....but who knows when other forces could bring about earth's destruction? We could be hit by a devastating meteor, global warming could adventually bring about the next ice age making the earth almost inhabitable, we could kill each other off with nuclear warfare....in truth, there are so many potential if's that there is no way to predict when (and from where) the final blow will come. I will say this though, there have been a great many End of the world predections, and so far every single one of them has proven wrong, so our best bet is to try to get a handle on global warming, hope for the best, and don't pay any heed to those Armegeddon predictions.

They also said the world was going to end on 06-06-06 and what about the world ending on New Years (2000)? It's was as likely to happen then as it is to happend on 12-21-2012

Scientifically speaking yes. At some point our sun will grow vastly bigger encompassing the inner planets, but thats many years away. Thats if nothing else changes up to that point. Many people said the world would end on the turn of 1999/2000 yet we are still here. Simple solution is to live each day to its fullest and you wont need to worry about when the world will end because you will already be ready for it.

Many civiliations have claimed to know the answer to when the world will end. Many of these dates have come and gone already. The world itself will not end. What would end is the rule of Mankind much like the end of the rule of the Dinosaurs.
Mother Nature will take of itself and life will continue on Earth in some form or another. It may just be without Humans.

I really don't know. My gut somehow tells me that it isn't going to happen, but I've read articles on these topics and the Mayans were accurate.
You do realise that the world is not going to 'end' in that sense of the word, but there is going to be massive destruction and a majority of the population will perish. Some will still survive - I don't know whether they will be lucky or unlucky to survive!
The world will end, this much I know, because anything that has a beginning has to end, but I don't think it will happen in our lifetime. Hinduism predicts the world to end after a few million years

Of course it will end but likely and HOPEFULLY not for a very very long time. I have faith that people will improve our society and environment to make our world last a bit longer, before it gets worse again and Jesus comes. People have been predicting set dates for the Apocolypse since the beginning of time and have been wrong so I wouldn't take it too seriously. But in all modesty, no human should really know when it will happen. It could happen tommorrow or a million years from now. But hopefully before the sun explodes on us lol.

It's certainly possible?! (At least as you and I know it!). But the Bible teaches that the world and the universe will be "renewed", along with His believers.
And, by the way... the same year is depicted in the Egyptian hieroglyphics inside one of their pyramids too.

I'm not sure about it ending in 2012 (I hope it doesn't!) But with the way we are treating our planet these days.. that idea is looking ever more possible.
I believe that yes, the world will "end" one day. I hope I'm not around to see it.

According to the vedic version of India the end of the world occurs at the end of Kali Yuga (the age we are in).....but don't worry, there are hundreds or thousands of years left!
