No it's not.
A cop doesn't have to tell you that he is an officer while he is undercover. It's silly that anyone would even think so. Why on Earth would an officer have to tell you that he's a cop just because you asked.... is it just like saying open sesame to unlock a door? MAGIC! lol

No, the undercover police officer does not have to tell you.

It used to be true, but not any more. Police needed to protect themselves and the law was changed. It is now acceptable for law enforcement people to lie in order to make an arrest or to gain information.

Only when he arrests you.

If he wore his badge on his jacket.....he wouldn't be undercover, would he, now.

A police officer can and does lie to criminals in the performance of his duties. And he's entitled to do so. And if you think he lied....go ahead and prove it. He's innocent until you can prove him guilty.

Anything else is merely wishful thinking.

depends on how you ask him. undercover officers have a job to do. and in some cases are not allowed to 'blow their cover'. however, if you know he is a law enforcment officer, state and federal laws require that a sworn officer provide his full name and serial (badge or id) number when properly requested by anyone.

Yes, if he is arresting you. He has to show you the ID and explain why you are being arrested...

Else.. he is an under cover doing his job...
