Believe it or not, the Flux Capacitor has a wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flux_capacitor
More information than you ever though could be amassed for a throwaway line in a sci-fi movie.

In the movie serie of Back to the Future Doc Brown invented a flux capacitor to time travel. In the first movie Marty (MichealJ Fox) had to drive the delorean down the main street of town and the bar on the car hit the high wire and he then disappeared back in time, This time he was his parents age and had to get them together. One funny scene involved his mother (who was now his age) falling for Calvin. he kept calling him Calvin because the waist band of his under ware said "Calvin" (kline)/
The second movie traveled into the future and now the "time machine or flux capacitor used garbage rather than a n electrical line to get its power.
I'm not ure but the last movie took them back to the Wild west.
If you haven't seen these movies, it's worth renting all of them.
The flux capacitor currently is being used in an ad for something but Doc Brown still stars in the ad. No one else could do it since the flux capacitor is his invention.
