are you sure we don't have the same kid? lol. my daughter was the same way. seemed ready to walk at birth, but wouldn't roll over until 6 months, then was perfectly content to roll to everything. she didn't start crawling or attempting to until after 9 months. now she is a year and crawling is fine and no interest in walking. my only suggestion is she will do it eventually. you can try to place toys in front of her to try to intice her to scoot toward them, since rollling to them right in front of her won't be a quick option. my daughter also hated tummy time, what i did was when she was around 7 months old, was start talking to her non stop while on her belly and making silly faces and playing peek a boo. and if that didn't work i busted out the old tickle monster using my hands. she eventually learned to get up on all 4's and start rocking. and i would get down there and do it right with her. they love to mimik at this age, so just get down there and make a darned fool out of yourself. your baby eventually won't be able to resist. also, don't be in too much of a hurry to chase them around the house. they move fast on all 4's. much faster than you would think, lol.

Some babies dont like to crawl, some go right to walking. My daughter did. Just keep putting her on her stomach it will strengthen her neck, back, and arm muscles. When shes tried not being mobile she'll try. DOnt worry every baby is differnt. My kids walked at 7 and 8 months, but cousins baby didnt walk until 14 months. Doesnt mean anything, some just want to do it, others have no interest.

8 months is only the average starting time for crawling... that means that roughly 50% of babies will crawl before that age and 50% will crawl after that age. Even though baby hates being on her tummy, it's important exercise. Make sure there are lots of interesting toys to look at and play with during tummy time. The more you place her there, the more comfortable baby will become. Is she at least rolling over yet? If she can roll, she can get out of tummy time on her own if it really bothers her so much. Once my baby was comfortable on her tummy, I started to place her toys slightly out of reach so she'd have to slither forward to reach them.

She'll go when she's ready. Lots of babies don't crawl at 8 months. Our oldest didn't. She didn't walk until 15 months, either. And then she just got up and went.

Some babies NEVER crawl. I didn't. My husband didn't. It's actually not considered a true milestone.

So don't fuss about it. She'll figure out how to get herself around.

Now that pediatricians advise parents to put baby to sleep on his or her back, a lot of babies do not develop the upper body strength necessary to be able to crawl. Instead of crawling, many of these babies just go straight to walking instead.

If you want to encourage her to spend more time on her tummy, try getting a "tummy time" mat that has toys attached to it. She will be distracted by the toy she is playing with and forget that she is on her tummy. She will most likely quickly learn to tolerate the tummy time. :)

Don't worry! I walked before I crawled and that was at eight months old. Try standing her up and seeing if she can be stable. If she can with you holding her, try doing that more often and see if she likes that more! Good luck and I hope she becomes mobile!

lay her on her tummy and put toys that she loves a little further away from her touch and cheer her on to try to get them. She needs to be on her stomach even if she dislikes it to make her muscles stronger.
