so to the people that doesnt think hockey is popular well look at some of this countries and you will see how popular its really is. you have teams like Israel,Australia, Mexico and even South Africa. theres more registered ice hockey players in the world then american football, baseball and basketball combined.

Nations with Pro teams: Sweden, Finland, Germany,Denmark, Estonia, France, Hungary, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, UK, Latvia,Ukraine, Belarus, Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Slovakia, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, Canada, US....and the list is probably longer. Salaries and skill levels vary between leagues of course, with the NHL teams competing with the Swedish and Russian premier leagues for talent.

Canada, USA, Britain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Czech Rep., Slovakia, Japan (but that's more semi-pro..ditto China and South Korea in that new Asian League)...any more??? So, I'd say eleven at least have pro leagues and therefore pro teams. If you include Asian league then 14...

I count about 15-England, Scotland, Ireland, most of Nothern Europe, China, Japan, Korea, and of course Canada and the US.
