Basically, you buy a cord which pipes the output of the cassette player to the input of the sound card on your computer, and use a program like Audacity to record the sound coming in from the cassette. Then, make an mp3 or wav file, and finally burn a cd.

You need a cable to connect your cassette player to your PC (Use Line-In) on your Sound Device. Then use Windows Movie Maker to record your music. Just configure the settings carefully. That's it, then save your music as wma file. You can then burn all your recorded music on to a CD so you can then play them on your CD Player. If you are using Windows XP, you don't need any other software or program to burn your CD as WinXP already has a CD burning capability using Windows Media Player.
Hope that helps a little.

Put simply, you will need to connect your cassette player to your PC soundcard, then play the cassette whilst recording on your PC. A step-by-step guide is available at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/diy...
The recording software is the key, there are some free software downloads available at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/downloads.p...
I have used ‘Magix Audio Cleaning Lab’ and ‘Audacity’ – Audacity is particularly popular since it is free!
If you record to WAV format, expect file sizes of around 10MB per minute, or 1MB per minute for MP3 (at 128kbps).
Once you have your digital versions of the recording on your PC, simply burn them on to a CD (Nero burning software or similar..). If you use Magix Audio Cleaning, the software will burn an audio CD for you without needing additional software (assuming you have a CD writing drive of course!)
You can also download a free PDF version of the step-by–step guide from the download page mentioned above, the guide is complete with diagrams and screen-shots.
Hope this helps

1. Get a headphone cord with two male ends. 2. Plug one end into the computer's audio in jack. 3. Plug the other end into the cassette player's headphone jack. 4. Use your software of choice to record the signal onto the computer. 5. Burn the file to a CD.

What you need is a cable that can plug into the jack for the speaker outlet of your player, and then plug the other end into the microphone jack of your computer. Now all you need is a good program to allow you to record sound.

Get Ubuntu Linux, it is the only OS that still promotes and encourages learning. Go Linux or pay for the rights to listen.
