Why is it so unimportant to others when you ask for help and don't receive it?

If they don't care about what you're after, they're not going to help you succeed. That is so self-centered on the ones that don't want to take a few minutes out of their "precious time."

Heyjay asked pretty much the same question. Those a**holes insulted her, then one said, "Don't take it personally." Excuse me? The smart thing she said in a response in Add Details is that it must be nice to take for granted of those things you can do on your own without having to ask for help. I am so with her!

millie-mi..., where is it written slow learners aren't trying and are struggling while others go on their merry own way?
If one were so dependent of others without trying, you think they'd be asking for help to do things themselves?

drives me nuts to. I have gotten to the point that I just listen and don't offer advise. If they say anything, I just say, well you never listen to me anyways.

Yes, people are basically selfish and self centered. I am not saying all people, but there is a huge majority here I am speaking of. Unless it in some way can benefit themselves, a lot of people don't give a darn and would not go out of their way to do something for another. What ever happened to the golden rule, huh? Seriously, the world is "me,me,me" and its not going to change.

Be more specific! Which people? Where? Many people have found that the more help you give, the more you are asked for in future, so they will only help rarely, in the cases they judge are most deserving. Today's increasing time pressures, and the advice to "don't get involved" contribute.

they some (not all people) treasure their knowledge, to themselves... knowledge must be, for them, would somehow give an equivalent or more than the in4mation they have to be more knowleadgeable than others... for example, u do studied so hard for an exam, would u mind let them copy ur test answers just bec. they r ur friends... sacrifices must be made in order for an individual to be known by his individual self, and not just for the sake of other people

Because it is the end of times and satan wants to run the world, alot of people are not saved. A real born again Christian would not do that. They would help you because they are followers of Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit. I do hope you are a believer.

people are just naturally that way. you'll find a few people that REALLY want to help you out. but most people don't really care. it's sad but you gotta look out for number one, you can't expect other people are going to bend over backwards for you.

Every one is focus on their on life,they have their own problems to deal with,they have their own burden to carry on.If a person is clinging to me for help,because she/he does not make an effort to help his/herself and he/she thinks it is my obligation to take care of her/his problems,she is the most worthless person alive. I don't care of the opinions of that person to me.
