the thing about DOTA, YOU NEED LOTS OF PRACTICE, need to play a lot of it, to get used to it, unless you've played AoS (Aeon of Strife) type maps before, it doesn't feel like melee or 3 corridors, much faster to do damage + die

you'll never be good during the first time you play, why? , cos you need to learn the item builds, characters, attacking strategies, denying creeps, farming for gold (aim to get the last hit on creeps), backing off from after an attack etc, take a run through single player for a bit, or practice against a friend
