That happened to me when I tried to play a DVD-ROM in my regular CD-ROM drive. Check your disk and see what you have.

I actually have considered this some cases on older cd drives. in certain circumstances the cd would not seet correct contained in the force and honestly wedges the drawer close. yet another reason is a small swap that detects at the same time as the drawer is closed myay be undesirable. And the cam motor that operates the drawer would begetting ability . in case you do not have a guide launch hollow on the force for a paper clip, you'll get rid of the force, take the metal cover off and unjam the cd if that's the case. if it nonetheless received't open then come across the cam motor ( it has a trojan horse equipment on it), and attempt to operate it by technique of using volatage from a flashligt battery with some wires. If the motor works you want to modify the force.

is it a real cd or a "home made" cd. It depens ur drive might not be able to read "home made" cd's but if in fact it's a real cd try it with other cd's maybe its not the drive.....it's probably just that particular CD.
good luck!

normally if nothing at all happens, like you don't even hear it try to read or anything, then the bay doesn't work. but if it trys and doesn't work make sure your are using the right disk for that type of bay, and check the device drivers as well to see if their functioning properly
