I'm 15 and my bf is shooting in a national skeet shooting competition the beginning of july and it would mean the world to him if i could go the thing is they are in TX, sooo I kinda need money for airfare, food, and hotel because i know my parents will never let me go unless i pay for it so yeah, i already have about $500 saved up, but thats not nearly enough. i make and sell blankets and scarfs but i will need to sell quite a few. and i can't get a regular part time job, for various reasons. so if anyone has any sugesstions as to how to make/raise enough money by then i would appreciate it! thanks

Do you like dogs? if you do, how about doing some dog-walking for people who work long hours? Like after school ...

People are always needing good qualified babysitters on weekends or evenings ... check with your local red cross about getting a first aid training ... that is a plus ... also, my experience was that the girls your age didnt want to babysit, it was always much younger girls, and I wasnt willing to trust my children with a 12 year old, I would far rather hire a competant 15 year old.

Also, there are often older and ill people in communities who can and will afford to pay for small jobs around their home ... like vacuuming, dusting, washing cabinets, etc.

Put this question over in hobbies, and in the career/job listing area ... i bet you will get lots of ideas. I have seen people ask this there before, so you might also search.

Good luck, and good for you wanting to earn your way! Wish I lived near you, I would hire you!

Ebay might not do it, you probably don't want to sell everything you own to go anyway.

Get a part-time job instead. Work for it. I know people will say that 15 is too young to work. Tthe truth is, you can with your parents concent but you will be limited on your hours and job potentials.

Grocery stores usually need sackers and stock clerks. Paper routes, baby sitting, and mowing lawns are traditional jobs for kids your age. Just go out and apply.

personally if you dont need it you shouldnt get it. thats just less money for the programs to spread around to the people who do need it. Also if you make what you consider enough you probably won't come in under the income limits to qualify anyway. i was on food stamps and it was wonderful. once my husband got a slightly better job we lost them because "we made too much" when really we were still struggling to put food on the table, but we came in like $200 over the limit (they go off you're pay before taxes too .which makes it even harder)...and WIC was a life saver when my babies went on fomula. i couldnt have done it w/o WIC. formula is EXPENSIVE. but now that my children dont need formula, and i found a decent job i chose to get off WIC.

For want of a better word, put you wears on eBay.

It's a good cause, getting two young ppl together, let me know when you do it and I'll buy one (blanket, not a scarf kinda guy).

Get your mum to at least buy the wool though.

Good luck.

Email me...where is this competition? There are certain things that you can do to raise money for this. Give me the details and I will help you get here...I am involved in that kind of thing, and I live here in TX.

Sounds like you have good crafting skills.. try making jelly candles and sell it in bulk to a local gift shop. They're not too expensive to make, and if you have a creative eye people will buy it.
