I was with this girl last summer and she is pregnant, I mostly certain that it isnt mine. It was during a break up with the mother of my child. I dont want anything to do with this girl ever again and want to have a relationship with my daughters mother now.

If the child is yours, you have to pay up. The child support laws are very well developed and it's hard to get away from them. Even moving out of the county won't help unless you go to a less developed country, which doesn't follow the international conventions.

If the child is yours, don't fight it. Pay the money, and be happy that you have another child. It's a fight you can't win anyway.

Now if the baby isn't yours and you aren't married to her, you don't have to pay. You might have to take a paternaty test.

Good Luck!

If your rights get terminated then you pay NO child support. The child is no longer yours. But...in Wisconsin, you cannot have your rights terminated without another person to take over (such as stepfather). It takes a court and judge to terminate rights. I am adopting 2 boys and going thru this now in WI.

check with the laws of the state she resides in..if like California they will insist on DNA being done prior to going to court, but I believe that in most if not all states, signing the child off does NOT stop you from paying child support............

Suggest you tell the mother of your child that you might be having an addition...........as the papers will be coming thick and fast.

Yah, you do have to pay child support. You helped make the pay - so you need to pay the "consequences." If you don't think the baby is yours, demand a paternity test. If it is yours, pay up or they will garnish your wages.

Go here and browse if you want to know your rights: http://www.dwd.state.wi.us/bcs/laws.htm

But I say, man up - Daddy!
