Hello, I have a Toshiba Laptop. When i power up the machine, i hear the startup noises, such as the fan, hard drive, as well as several other ordinary noises. However, my laptop screen displays nothing. Only a black screen. What is happening??? The computer is only two years old, and i do not have an external monitor attatched. Is there a way to fix this???

Thanks.

Having an external monitor would be a lot of help. Sometimes the backlight light can burn out on the screens. Shine a flashlight into the screen and see if you can see images. try tapping that tiny button in the top left that turns on and off the screen, it could be stuck in the down position

Most likely, the monitor. Software errors usually do not result in black screen, although it is not impossible.
