Just so long as you have 2 free USB heads on your motherboard it will work at the reduced 1.1 speed. You should have put your motherboard here so we can see if it even has USB heads on it. To check this out all you have to do is open up your computer and look for a row of 4 pins with USB written next to them on the motherboard. If you do not have 2 of these rows free it will not wirk

I've never seen a usb connector on the INSIDE of a computer, they're always on the outside. You may be able to route the wire out the back through a hole, or take out an expansion card slot metal placeholder thingie and route it out there to an available usb hole. A lot of motherboards have whats called a usb header on the motherboard, in which usb plugs would be plugged into that go to the front of the case. If you have a spare set of those usb plugs that are not installed in a case you could plug them into the motherboard and just leave them inside the case and plug your card reader to that. That would require a little more knowledge though, probably consulting the motherboard manual to find the right pins.

to help along with this..
Do you know what type of mother board you have...

Do you still have the owners manual, this will help identify USB pins..

If no owners man... web over to the manufactures web site and try to get some pictures and info about your Motherboard.

If you still want this, you can also get a PCI card with USB2 ports on them (internal and External) for a few bucks... Just make sure the internal USB pins a close enough for this card reader.

Anywho hope this helps
