has anyone else had an experience with a boogeyman as a child?

if so please give me some details if you remember, and yes for all non-believers I am a completely sane and normal intelligent adult

Do dreams count? If so, he visited me regularly. And he came in three forms. The first one was the Catman. He looked like a huge high school mascot. No clothes that I can recall. In the dream, I remember it was summer and I was across the street with my mom talking to the neighbor. Someone taps me on the back and when I turn around I see it's him and he starts slapping me around like some mouse he just caught. My mom and the neighbor lady just stood and watched without emotion. Finally, my dog gets out and chases him up the street. I still remember the way he lumbered off. Sometimes, he would appear in my dreams with a lions head! The second one I never saw. I just heard. I would dream I was in a pitch black room with no lights whatsoever. And I knew that SOMEONE was in the room with me. All of a sudden, close to my face, I would hear a raspy, half-suppressed GLEEFUL laugh! It would send me bolting through the dark and eventually it would catch up with me and laugh some more. The third one was the "evil elf". It would appear in my dreams, at the foot of my bed or on my chest. It would talk to me like it was trying to be my friend, but I knew it meant me harm, that it's kind words were mockery- it was actually making fun of me. It would slowly try to get close, then jump on my head and force me to eat disgusting things, like mud and jelly sandwiches. I had all these characters in my dreams numerous times; they were all recurring. And, NO, I am not insane.

My boogeyman was a gorilla who would stand by the side of my bed. at first I would scream. after several visits I told him I wanted to be his friend. He still comes to visit. (MY shrink thinks that I have some personal issues) Me hay we are friends

When I was small, I saw a dragon like creature in my bedroom that would hide just behind my door if it was open, then slowly creep closer to where I was laying in bed. It looked to be about five foot five or so and it had a long tail and a mouth full of pointed, dagger like teeth. I would hide under the covers whenever it was in my room. As an adult, I casually mentioned this to my younger brother and was shocked to find out that he had seen it as well in his bedroom at night when we were children. We had never spoken about it before, and he described it just as I had seen it. I also remembered that on one particular night it left my room and headed down the hallway to where my two brothers shared a room. It moved in a peculiar manner, like stop motion pictures.

well i have lived in this house that was pink near my grandparent's house in florida lond time ago but one night i woke up and went to the living room and sat down on the coauch in complet darkness and then i was attacked by some thing and i fought it off and went to my room screzming and crying and went to sleep and the next day there was a hand in the hall way of my house and my mom went to work and was serving someone in a reastrount she noticed that her hand was gone my m`om asked the woman what happend and the lady told my mom she choped her hand off in the house i was living in.
