Whenever I open Itunes, there's a box that pops up asking if I want to upgrade my it. I always select no because I don't want to lose my playlists, it's a very large collection. But my question is will my playlists be affected if I upgrade it? Thanks in advance!!!

Your music tracks and playlists are saved independantly of the iTunes program, so upgrading it will not affect them in any way. Except to improve them. The most significant change made to iTunes 7 is that you can now set your songs for gapless playback if you upgrade your iPod's firmware at the same time. This means that if you are listening to the songs from a CD straight through, there will no longer be a half-second pause between tracks. This is especially important for albums where one track blends directly into the next. Another welcome feature is the ability to adjust the intensity of the backlight on your iPod.

Now, some people have complained about performance issues with iTunes 7 (vs. any of the previous versions) and older or low-end computers, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to check the specs on your computer before upgrading to make sure it has the resources to run iTunes 7 without chugging to a halt.

version 7 replaced into pronounced to be very buggy by using many clientele - A version 7.01 is released which could have fastened maximum blunders. i might propose on a greater regular foundation to consistently have contemporary replace, yet on your case I`m unsure.
