NO-i love football but until they play 162 games a year and pull in 2 million fans to the games-football is number2-baseball is a sport that is talked about all years long-even in the off season-aside from the draft-football is all but gone until preseason-the thing i like about the super bowl is that its one and done-you win or you lose-there is no tomorrow-mlb playoffs are too long and drawn out

I think football has been the #1 fan favorite sport for quite some time now..........There are oodles of baseball games during the regular season and only 16 football games to a regular season......Even baseball fans, and I am one, will readily tell you the season + the playoffs make for too long of a season.......With such a short season in football a lot of fans go through football withdrawal, and I'm one of them........
Sure the SuperBowl has become more than just a game.....Where the World Series can go to 7 games this is only 1 shot for the Championship........There's no tomorrow......Hockey and Basketball also have tomorrow but Football doesn't........The SuperBowl signifies the end of a very short season.........The ProBowl, after that doesn't hold too much interest for fans........You don't get to see any one player in the game for very long.......
I love football and wish they would make the season a bit longer.............CAT

Is it more Popular ???? -- Yes
Has it passed baseball as Americas pastime ??-- No way.
For one thing, you can not compare a sport with a 16 game season versus a sport that has a 162 games.
How many families are able to go to a NFL game? Few - because with so few games, the games are sold out most of the time - to adult and corporate season ticket holders.
Major League Baseball games are packed with families and kids. Why ? - because although expensive - it is still available
as a 'family activity'.
The number of kids that play organized baseball versus organized football ?? -- no comparison - baseball wins in participation - hands down.
Does football win the TV ratings ?-- absolutely. But claim the title of Americas Pastime ? I don't think so.

the Superbowl has beaten the world series over the past 10 years or so.
Football is the most popular sport in America. Baseball is the only sport in America that is losing popularity.
during the last world series, Major League Baseball PAID the NFL not to play any games during the world series (remember that one weekend WITHOUT a Sunday night game, that was why)

I think it has also, football doesnt have as many substance abusers as the MLB has like McGuier or however you spell it, I mean in the MLB you have people breaking records because of taking these substances....The Super Bowl is so much more than the World Series.... I think the Super Bowl is the only game where people actually throw a party for every year no matter who plays.....So i think yes that football has past baseball.....

Yes. The Superbowl has higher ratings than the World Series. Baseball isn't very exciting to watch...

while i still believe baseball is a great game, football has over taken it do to society right now. the masses don't appreciate baseball anymore because of how slow paced of a game that it is and all of the conclusions jumped to by the public and the media. i love both sports...but America is so judgemental that football has become the more prominant sport...
