which one would you get and why?

I prefer Xbox360: Many multiplayer games, Xbox Live integration is *fantastic* (friends list, invite them or join games if you both own the same games, Xbox Live Arcade game downloads are at a decent amount now). Graphics are very strong. Lost Planet is a recent example of a pretty decent game recently. The system seems geared to shooters (i.e. Rainbow Six: Vegas, Gears of War, Prey). Can download HD content (TV programs, movies etc). They cost MS Points though (which you can purchase at stores or online).
Wii: Mainly a "social" system with more physical play. Appeals to non-gamers and Nintendo enthusiasts. Worthy games: Rayman Raving Rabbids, Wii Sports (comes with system), Zelda (claimed to be a very good game by everyone I know).
It depends on what kind of games you like...

XBOX 360 if your a teen and I'm assuming you are. The Wii isn't appeling graphics whise and gamong wise. 360 and PS3 have great graphics, games, downloadable content, and and overall are easier to FIND and get.

xbox b/c i can mod it the wii tries to sell the old games when on my old xbox I have all the video game emulators, so that sucks
