I honestly don't know...there was a time in my life when I would have given anything to be straight(which i think is true for most of us)..but the challenges of being gay have made me examine myself much more deeply..and made me a much more caring and at the same time hardened individual.

I agree with your assumption, being gay is not a choice. The only choice I had is accepting it and being happy. Would I have chosen to be gay if I had a choice....... having the life I have and the people in it, no brainer, I would be gay. If on the other hand, I had no life experiences to base my decision and only heard the words of the select ignorant small minded people in this world I probably would have been afraid to choose gay. Thank God that wasn't the case.

That's very interesting! I agree that being gay is not a choice....in this life as we know it. But who knows what exists(if anything) in a previous existence? What if we chose EVERYTHING about the life we have now? Where we live, who we were born to, what gender(s) we would be, etc, all with the knowing of what challenges we would be facing. Anything is possible.
I'm sure that if I did have the choice I chose it on purpose.

I think in the beginning (of me knowing who I was) I would have chosen to be straight. I went through a lot of self loathing and suicide attempts (naturally, being part of a church at that stage).

After having made peace with myself (and realising the church is full of hypocrites when they're presented with a chance to prove god's "unconditional" love) - NO, I wouldn't have chosen it any other way.

I don't necessarily assume I didn't make that choice before I was born. Maybe that's a part of what I'm supposed to be learning this go-round.

my wish would be to have been born female instead of male. sexual orientation is something i am indifferent too. i've been an unhappy male for 33 years and now i start the long road to transition, which will be long, grueling, expensive.. and even when i become a woman, i'm sure the world will be lining up to judge me..

It's not a choice. It is by nature, and YES I would willingly be a lesbian all over again if I had the choice.

Yes, but of course it isn't. No, frankly I wouldn't change a thing about my life except that I'd like to be taller.

I'm sorry. he question presupposes pre natal knowledge of an advanced order and I can not see how it could possibly apply.

Would you have not chosen to be born left-handed?
