Yes, Genetics deals with hereditary traits. Molecular Biology deals with how genes are regulated. Many research universities have entire majors devoted to one or both of those subjects.

Yes. Most schools had one. At the University of Wisconsin we had a full class entitled "Genetics".

most colleges and universities have a genetics course, usually there are some other bio courses you would have to take first, but it should be available.
