How do you know you were hacked from the outside?

More than likely, you downloaded or installed something that came with spyware/adware. Then that software turned around and infected your workstation from within.

if you have logging enabled on your xp firewall the log is located here... C:\WINDOWS\pfirewall.log

if you didnt know that already i doubt you will be able to analyze it to figure out if you were hacked.
