The first two Mediterranean Islands to become havens where Baleares and Crete. They where both invaded by the Roman army in 74 AD, Marcus Antonius led an army against the pirates of Crete but was defeated. Just a note: he was the son of Marc Anthony.

Crete or Cyprus I believe.

they were from Crete in fact Cesare was held by them for ransom he had some one pay the ransom and then returned and had them curcafied
