there is this stuff called Goo Gone. It's orange and it's made from a lot of citric stuff.

It works great! I think you can find it anywhere like Target or Wal-Mart.

The reason they are so difficult to remove is because stores don't want you removing the sticker from one item and putting it on another item.

Results are going to vary from item to item, but I've found some stickers are easier to remove when they are cold and some are easier to remove when they are warm. I would usually try warm. If you're trying to pull the sticker off intact, try placing it under a heating pad for a minute or two (as long as it won't damage the item). Avoid getting the sticker wet unless it's already torn to pieces in which case you can use warm soapy water or whatever method you would normally use for removing adhesive.

Good question, I was wondering that myself. I decided that every time I buy an item that has a sticker on it that won't come off and leaves a big white shred of paper and gunk on the thing I just bought, that I will return it to the store and demand an exchange or refund.

Most of the time the manufacturer knows better than to put those crappy stickers on that won't come off... It's the store itself that attaches it's own label to the item, and has chosen the cheapest sticker material that they can buy, which leaves that torn up sticky piece of paper on the item when you try to remove the sticker. If you start returning the stuff to them they will eventually figure out that it's cheaper not to ruin the item with the cheapest possible sticker.

Take a piece of scotch tape and press it down over the sticker, but keep one end of the tape away from the object so you can rip it up. Use your fingernail to rub over the price sticker really hard, then rip up the tape. Do this 3 or 4 times, and it gets all of it. I wish I had known this trick years ago! It would have saved me alot of frustration!

At Bed Bath and Beyond you can get these little things but im not sure what they are called. Anyways, the cost is around one dollar and it is a little scrapper thing. Mine is white with a red rubberish handle ( i think they have diff. colors like blue, etc.) and its for scraping food off of pans. Its great for that also too because it does not scratch up the non- stick surfaces. You will find that it has several uses.

I used to work in the cleaning services for a year and we used goo gone a lot. Its gentle and will leave a lemony fresh scent on things. I reccomend soaking the area with the product and then softly wiping it off.

If you peeled off the paper but the sticky residue is left on the item, try using WD-40 and a paper towel to wipe off the sticky stuff. Make sure your item can actually handle WD-40 (i.e. not paper items or things of that nature)

If they are on boxes or a hard, smooth surface, you can try using a hairdryer and blow it on the sticker to melt the glue. Make sure the hairdryer is blowing hot air, instead of cold air.
