Pure genius. Not just in the music and the incredible flow of sounds when transitioning from track to track. I have done the whole thing with synchronizing the album with the Wizard of Oz, and it is completely true. There are so many instances where the music and movie go together that it can't be coincidence, even though the members claim so. Plus, the words of "Time" reminds me so much of my "hometown"

I remember when it came out and saw the concert. It seemed then and now to be about the whole human experience, from birth, childhood, working years, illness, relationships, and death. I remember listening very closely to the lyrics over and over. I didn't make any connection to the Wizard of Oz, which had great music of its own. I suppose you could compare them, but to me they are so much of their own times it doesn't work. It's been a long time, but it's still an important album to me.

money and cash registers?! Oh - and creepy subliminal voices in the background of some of the songs on that album. The first time I heard them I got scared!
I haven't done the whole Wizard of Oz thing, but I'd like to try that some day.

Personally, I think of driving through a wooded area near where I grew up known as the "Lagoons". Since there were no buildings along this stretch of road, just low lying water, trees and bushes, it got to be very dark. It felt like we were in a horror movie. So of course, being rambunctious suburban teens, we would put 'Dark Side of the Moon' in the old 8-track player and drive through the lagoons, trying to scare the heck out of ourselves.
