I am 37 weeks pregnant. Yesterday morning I was at the hospital with contractions being 2 minutes apart. After 4 hours of those they went to being 15 to 20 minutes apart. I only dilated 1.5 to 2. About 24 hours later i lost my mucus plug and since then i have had alot of pressure in the pelvic and rectal area. Also I am having alot of sharp pains in the lower back and in my adominal area from the belly button down. My doctor, without examining me, the nurse did the exam, said it would 2-3 more weeks before i have my baby.

It could be any time. Try taking a long walk after a large meal, sounds weird but it helps move the process along. also if you feel something is not right, baby stops moving as much, go right to the hospital. I almost lost my son because of problems such as losing the muscus plug before the due date, having contraction, ect. He stopped moving, went to the hospital the first time, them gave me meds and monitered me. I carried him for another 2 months, but they had to take him early because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his throat and cutting off his breathing. If it wasnt for the fact that I knew something wasnt right no matter what I was told my the nurses I would have lost him.

You never know... Just make sure you go to the hospital if they get to be less than 5 minutes apart again, cause it could be the real thing. Don't let your guard down and plan to wait 2-3 weeks, know that it could happen at any moment between now and then. Either way.... how much longer? If you're feeling like i am, I'm sure it won't be soon enough, lol.

It depends on the person, I was in labor for 3 days after the dr said it would only be a wk and I would have my baby went home and the next day I went into full blown labor and stayed there for 3 days until they decided to do a C-Section because he wasn't going to come out! Like they didn't know that on the 1st day no make someone wait 3 days in full blown labor its crazy get an epidural they rock wish I would have gotten mine sooner I had mine on the 3rd day of labor at like 3PM had my son via C-Section at 8PM on the dot!

NURSES dont know everything with my last baby i went in and said i had a show and a bit of pain she checked me and said that i would be able to go home mean while the doctor checked me 5 mins later and said i would be staying cause i was fully dilated so i would be going back and let the doctor check you again.

Baby comes when Baby's ready,, Dr must be a whacko, if 2 mins and then back to 15 or 20, should have broke water and started the drip to get labor going, but hey what do I know,, I have had 3 myself

The nurse should know by the examination whether your baby is in the birth canal. Babies have a mind of their own and when they get ready, they don't wait on dates and predictions.
You should stay close to home and be ready to go to the hospital soon. You sound really close to having that precious baby.

It's kind of dangerous when your mucous plug comes out because you are more susceptible to infection.
I had a situation similar, but thank goodness they kept me in the hospital. I kept walking around until the labor progressed and they broke the water sac to continue progression.
I don't know, but if they had sent me home while I was having those contractions on my first pregnancy I would not know when to go in.

you could be feeling all the symptoms of labor and the baby dont come til another 2-3 weeks so theres a chance that you can have tonight or until 3 weeks from now but its just probably you wanting to have the baby already!!

The nurse was being very conservative! You could go at anytime now and if I were you I would start walking everywhere I go, but stay hydrated. It's very frustrating to be in your situation, you just can't think of anything else and you can't get comfortable. Hang in there and I will pray you don't have to wait 3 more weeks!!!!!!!!

I think it will be any time, if u are having that much pain and lost ur mucus plug, then it should be real soon. u can lose ur mucuc plug and go into labor right away or it can be in a week or two, but with ur signs, i say REAL SOON. good luck and God bless
