6x – 0.37 = 5(x – 0.28)
6x-0.37=5x-1.4

Distribute the 5 to each term in the parentheses:
6x-0.37=5x-1.4
Move the 5x to the left and the 0.37 to the right of the equal sign:
6x-5x=-1.4+0.37
Add/subtract like terms:
x=-1.03
That's your answer.

6x – 0.37 = 5(x – 0.28)
6x – 0.37 = 5x – 140
-5x-5x
X - 0.37 = -140
+0.37 + 0.37
X = 139.63

6x – 0.37 = 5(x – 0.28) distribute 5
6x-0.37=5x-1.4 subtract 5x from each side
x-0.37=-1.4 add 0.37 to each side
x=-1.03

rachael is wrong, "a 150 days of flood" is right!
in the last step x-0.37=-1.4 you have to ADD 0.37 on both sides, and (-1.4)+0.37 is definately NOT 1.77!
Right is x=1.03!

Again, get rid of the brackets first!
so multiply the 5 through
Isolate x on to one side, and then solve for the variable!
This is exactly like the other question you just asked except eaiser
Remember, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
