Harry potter has a scare on his head... that's it . If he had any other kind of squiggle people would look into it and say its one thing or another..
So just look at it as .. Its a scare..
The Nazi Party symbol.
The swastika is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either left-facing (卍) or right-facing (卐) direction.. It is considered a sacred symbol in Dharmic religions (Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism).
The Hindu version is often decorated with a dot in each quadrant. Archaeological evidence of swastika shaped ornaments goes back to the Neolithic.
In the 20th century, the Swastika was used in the flag of Nazi Germany and has become a controversial symbol as a consequence.
Which i feel has no baring on Harry Potter at All.

Well, I wasn't really expecting "lightning bolt powers" (though that'd be pretty epic), but I thought the lightning bolt was supposed to have some significance, like symbolize something. Then a couple years ago I read a JK Rowling interview and she said that she simply chose the lightning bolt scar because it looked cool. And she's got a point. A lightning bolt-shaped scar is way more memorable to the reader + to other characters than if it were a straight line. Haha I love your ending :]

The swastika was actually the native american sunwheel, reversed. It wasn't made up of lightning bolts. That said,
There are many, many paralells in the potter books and nazis. JK Rowling has said his herself. I'm not just talking about symbols, but look at the attitude the purebloods have against the muggle borns. This whole series is a real slam against the Nazis that the things they believed and taught. ANd it's a well written, surprising, plot twisting slam of a book.
I can't wait to read the last one. I am really hoping that Harry doesn't die. I'm pretty sure that he'll (with considerable help and sacrifice) end up saving the world.

No. Actually I don't recall anywhere in Harry Potte where the scar was connected to Thor in any way...althoug I could have skimmed over it.
As for the Swastika. The symbol itself is not 2 lightnign bolts crossed. The symbol was a stylized wheel, representing a solar wheel. similar symbols have been used in many cultures long before there were any Nazi's. the Chinese, Tibetans, Greeks, Egyptians and even a number of Native american tribes used similar if not identical symbols and ALL of them represented the sun, or solar power. The swastika was an ANCIENT germanic symbol that likewise represented the solar wheel. The reason Hitler used it was becasue it was an ancient Germanic symbol connected to the ancient heritage of the Germanic people. he perverted the meaning of the symbol and misused its power, which is why he lost, went mad and blew his brains out. It was the power of that symbol that allowed him to keep such a great number of people in thrall to his speeches.
No connection.

not really, like most of the symbols of the Nazi party, they were stolen from occult and religious traditions. Hitler was attempting to create a semi-mystical tradition, and the symbolism was part of that.
I think, not sure, that the lightning bolts were stolen from the Futhark runes (SS symbol), and the swastika is a common form of the fire-wheel symbol, but the direction of it's "spin" is in a left-hand path direction...

no, no resemblance,
the Nazi symbol was not lightning bolts, but an early Chinese mystical symbol that Hitler inverted. hitler believed in the occult, and was activly looking for religious artifacts that were said to have mystical powers.

as to the idiot that said that Rowling incorperated Satanic spells into her book, i trust that you have researched this extensivly and can prove your statement. i would like to know which book and page, and the wording of said Satanic spell. and then i would like to see you cross refrence it to the Satanic bible, or the Satanic Rituals, or the Compleat witch, the only books that are endorsed by the Church of Satan.
refrence any Girimore, or writing by Jhon Dee, Allister Crowley, Richard Gardner, or any other Occultist with any of the "spells" used in the Harry potter books.
As a Pagan i have studied this and found no connection. in fact the so called "spells" are just miscellaneous latin terms that ring of the spell's effect. "LEVIOSAR' sounds like levitate, and is great for a kids magical word to levitate a feather.
they are childrens books. the only Magic in them is that it got my 8 year old niece to READ A BOOK.

the lightning bolt in mythology represents Destroyer. also the double S is a symbol of Satan. The person who's name we shall not mention is deemed Evil in the story outline therefore he left his mark on Harry Potter.

You're reaching. Far. God, I hate the harry potter books, everybody delves WAY to deep to find symbolism. I just take everything at face value and wait till the end.

No conspiracy there. It is getting to the point that we need not write stories as they have all been told and are parallel to each other.
