Can I call the ACLU and sue Comedy Central for the racist remarks, put into the form of "comedy", made by their comedians.
As a white female, I find the remarks to be degrading, offensive and nothing more than hate speech!

I don't find "cracker" to be funny...nor any of the other racist remarks that he makes.

And if not, then how do minorities sue for racial issues?
What about when Kramer lost it? He is being sued.

I think we should all be more tolerant. I love "Mind of Mancia" He makes fun of everyone. "Living color" used to do that, too. If we get it all out in the open & deal with it, it will lose its power & go away.

The racial slur "cracker" was originally used because masters of slaves cracked the whips, hence "cracker". Most white people think cracker means whitey as in color of a cracker (bread snack) but that is incorrect. The ACLU's mission is to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States. Sueing Comedy Central would be asking for more government regulation on TV which is not a good idea. If you prefer more government folks making your decisions whether it be TV programming, radio, etc than you might want to take a look at Cuba, Venezuela, or Iran.

Its a comedy show. If you can't take a joke, don't watch.
Maybe we should stop talking at all. This PC bull has got to end. Pretty soon we won't be able to say anything to each other because some over-sensitive person might be offended.
By the way, Chapelle uses the forbidden ni**er word as well as sp*c, wetb**k. There really aren't any insulting names for white people.

Radiohead didn't actually stand up to Prince there. They had no say over it, Thom just said in an interview it was ridiculous to remove the video. No one can stand up to Prince on that, even his record labels which would probably prefer Prince stop living in his own little world and acting crazy and removing all his videos on YouTube, because he even removes acoustic cover versions of HIM by his hardcore fans! and if his videos remained there on YouTube, there's an opportunity to advertise on them and for both labels and artist to make money. I mean, I have barely seen any Prince videos in my life. and if they stay off YouTube, this will be true of a whole generation. then who will buy Prince albums huh? most people won't have a chance to see him live.

Of course you can. but you will find that much of the work Chappelle does is to satarize racial stereotypes and the use of racial words. I do not think that Chappelles intentions are racially charged. You must always look beyond the text.

Cracker isn't offensive- it's stupid! I don't look like an effing cracker! And black people aren't black. They're brown! America has freedom of speech- he can say cracker if he wants to and you can change the channel if you want to. Don't spend your time worrying about other people acting stupid and calling us food products! LOL
