When I jumped it the second time right before putting in a new battery..... I accidently connected the jump cables to the wrong terminal while they were connected to the jumpo car... all it did was spark but I didn't realize it and left them connected to the JUMPER CAR....... could this have fried anything electrical in the car. ?

It has to be a bad connection somewhere, are the other ends of the battery cables connected? Are the cables reversed? Is there no ground connection?

Check fuses?
Okay..if you crossed the jumper cables and left them crossed, I would bet that it fried your computer if it did not burn all the wires up before it got to it. Sorry to say, but it sounds like your headed towards an electrical shop for a new harness and/or a computer.
One time in my old truck, the positive terminal touched the body and fried the positive cable in two! Battery hold down fell off so battery slid into the body.

I don't know if you might have fried something. I suppose it's possible. But I used to have a similar problem with my older cars and alot of times the connectors on the cables were just getting dirty/corroded. If you have a wire brush, use it to clean off the connectors and then put them back on the battery. That would be my suggestion before spending anymore money.

If its a brand new battery that has gone flat after the cars been run a fair few times , the alternator is probably not charging it. having the alternator serviced will determine whether it has any damaged components. alternator services are around 300 bucks give and take here in australia

ooooppppssss, red and black for a reason/spray paint the terminals with red and black is a good rule of thumb if unsure look to see which cable connects to the block for neg. the fusable link is usually located between the battery and the firewall enclosed in a little box or covered inline fuse clip with cover

It is possible when you connected the jumper cables backwards(pos to neg-neg to pos) you could have blown the fusible link(most likely). Make sure the cables are connected correctly, otherwise you may have to take it to an electrical shop. It could be a number of things.......the longer the cables were hooked up backwards the more likely serious damage could have occured....hopefully the fusible link done it's job and saved from having major damage.....computer,melted wiring.....

Check the main fusable links (in the wire harness) and your grounds. you may also have a realy bad short to ground.

It might be the alternator. Go to Advanced Auto they might check it for free and let you know
