Download Internet Explorer 7 and the Google Toolbar. Both have pop- up blockers which will stop pretty much all popups on every site. Make sure you have a security suite, like McAfee or Norton. Remember, certain sites that have pop- ups may give you spyware that can otherwise hack/ browse your computer for files and personal info you have. Also, get AVG Anti- Spyware and configure it so tracking cookies are automatically deleted.

Their are no softwares that completely block ALL pop ups. If their is, I'd like to buy one. Yahoo features one on it's toolbar. Norton had a pop up blocker too. you can go to a computers or electronic store and ask for help. They'll recommend good softwares to block your pop ups. Good luck!

My suggestion, use Mozilla Firefox over Internet Explorer. Firefox allows the use of plug-ins created by various users. Though some plug-ins may be trapped with viruses (I have never encountered one yet) most are clean. You can trust the plug-ins listed on Mozillas home site at http://www.mozilla.org. There are several plug-ins worth checking out including, cookie blockers, java script blockers, pop up blockers, and my favorite ad blockers.

Here you will find great pop up blocker plug-ins.

use a browser with an inbuilt pop-up blocker such a opera, mozilla or slimbrowser. btw they also offer more inbuilt security features than iexplorer. if you insist on using iexplorer besure to install an anti keylogger (u can find freeones at download.com) and popup stopper - it's the best blocker have used n it's free.
