What is shake and bake?

It's a sort of breading and seasoning mix that is used for meat. You put the meat in a bag, put the Shake & Bake in, and shake it up so the meat is covered well with the little crumbs. Then you bake the cutlets or whatever sort of meat, and the breading cooks with it. I had it as a child, but we cut that out because it's a bit high in sodium.

Well Shake and Bake can be in terms different meanings. Shake and Bake when I grew up was a coating placed on Chicken or fish and baked in the oven. I have also heard the slang term Shake and bake. I have no idea the meaning of that term. I hope this may help you. Good Luck.

A shake and bake is a college graduate who becomes an officer in the military after a couple months in officer candidate school like in An Officer and a Gentleman.

Shake and bake is a bread crumb mix that you put in a bag with chicken or pork and shake it to get a good coating.

Wake and bake is someone that wakes up and smokes pot immediately.

That was product to make fried chicken....you put the chicken in the bag with he premade breading and shake...then Bake!!

Ha! I have not heard Shake n' Bake in years!!!

it's a boxed seasoned mix you can buy it for chicken or pork. it's called shake and bake because you put it in a bag with the meat and you shake it and then you bake it.

It is certain food products which come in bags; the purchaser is invited to shake the contents then proceed to pour same into an appropriate container, then bake.
My mother referred to them as 'food-like' products.

It is an excellent seasoned coating mix for different types of meat. You season it and then bake it. Delicious!
