They get destroyed. But on rare occassions some of the loser gear has gotten out and has become a collector's item.
I'm a Colts fan and I feel like buying some of those $20 AFC Champ t-shirts, but why not wait to see if they win the Super Bowl? Then you have to buy Super Bowl champ gear too.

I have not clue but I'd like to get one of those Patriots "AFC Champions" shirt and give it to my Patriots fans friends as a gag gift.
