I'm glad you've had good Sizzler experiences... my memory of them is my friend finding a moth in the salad! LOL..kind of turned me off to them.

The best steak I have had is @ a small town in Queensland, Australia - Jandowae (The middle pub). These steaks rate 10/10 and a steak meal can be bought for AUS$13 to $15.00 per Steak including smorgasbord salad & vegetables. The steak is so big it covers the plate.
The best of the local produce.
The pub was mentioned recently on Landline ABC.
To get equivalent in Brisbane @ any steak house or Tavern you would have to pay at least AUS$28.00
If you are ever out that way give it a go.

In Texas, so far the best steak is at the Texas Land and Cattle. It is a little on the high side for price. But really worth the money. Me and my husband went to both one in San Antonio and Killeen. Both times they were great. We both had steak on both occasions and it was the absolute best. I did not have to send my steak back to get it cooked over again like in most places that don't know want well done is. I'm talking about well done without burning it or too dry. For the sea food lovers out there I recommend getting a plate with a lobster tail. It was the best lobster that I ever tasted. Better than Red Lobster!

I live in downtown Chicago where there are 50 steakhouses in a 1.5 mile radius. For food quality and service I have always been happiest with the Capital Grille. Sure there are other more "see and be seen" joints to go to. But when I just want awesome food the Capital Grille is always tops.

Harris' Steak House in San Francisco. Try the 17 ounce bone in ribeye. Delicious.
The restaurant is old style, with big cushy booths, wood and brass fixtures, high ceilings and bustling atmosphere. A must for steak lovers in SF.

The best steak I've ever had was at a restaurant called Ernies in San Francisco years ago. Think the place is closed now. So many years ago...yet never forgot that meal and especially how the steak was prepared.

I never go out for steak. I can make it better at home for 1/3 the price of a restaurant.
The best steak I have ever had is at a dark restaurant called the Paragon in Centerville OH.
